Parashat Ki Tisa, Exodus 30:11-34:35, "A Wedding at Sinai” Part 2

The first part of this midrash (presented on 1/26/19) described how the circumstances of Exodus 19 was like a marriage between God and Israel, this second part discusses the golden calf incident in Exodus 32:1-8. This amounts to adultery on the part of Israel. We need to look at this example and not get impatient with God which causes us to do something dumb. Be patient, depend on His promises, and wait for His best for us, knowing that, (as Charles Spurgeon said) “God does not permit his people to sin successfully”. Ending with a call to give up any false gods or idolatry in our lives.
