The people of God come together to obey the voice of the LORD, To bring special offerings to the LORD over and above our normal giving, to remember the needy and the stranger, to remember what God has done, what He’s doing, and what He’s going to do, to celebrate and rejoice before the LORD. When looked at as a whole, the Biblical holidays lead us from rest, to forgiveness of sin, to resurrection life, to reflection and heart searching, to dwelling with God forever. They paint a picture for us of God’s plan for humanity and provide a context to establish meaning and purpose in life. They contain some of the greatest object lessons of all time. They make the Bible come to life. And so we celebrate and rejoice before the LORD.
