The Place of Storytelling in Jewish Ministry: Rediscovering the Treasures of Hebraic Epistemology

by Rev. Bill Bjoraker

July 29, 2017

This 2.5 hour workshop gave first a lecture presentation with powerpoint slides on the prominent role of narrative (story) in Scripture, Judaism, and in Yeshua’s teaching approach. It explains how all humans are hardwired for stories, why story is so important, how stories work, the power of stories to change culture, and how our postmodern moment, via the digital revolution, is an opportune time of receptivity to the stories of God. In the second part of the workshop, Dr. Bill Bjoraker told the story of Naaman the Syrian Leper (2 Kings 5:1-19), and leads a lively discussion of the treasures and applications of the story for today.
