Ceremonial throwing of sins into the water
Tashlich is a time to symbolically cast our sins "into the depths of the sea". Stones are used to represent our sins. As we toss our stones into the water, we are reminded that our sins have been forgiven (Micah 7:19).
After the oneg (lunch), we will be walking to Lake Boren to have a Tashlich ceremony. In this ceremony we will throw rocks into the lake as a symbol of throwing our sins far away from us.
