Leadership

Pastors & Staff

Joey & Beth Suyat

Lead Pastor

Joey and Beth met as undergrads at Israel College of the Bible. From there, they were recruited to lead the youth ministry at Beit Tikvah in 2007, and have been serving in different ministry roles ever since. Currently, Joey serves as the Senior Pastor, while Beth leads the children's and women's ministries.

When not leading their BT flock, they are joyfully shepherding their eight children.  Disc golf, hunting, and cooking are all part of the culture of Suyat home life. And while such a full life brings some craziness, it also brings much joy.

David & Inna Gurevich

Associate Pastor

In 1995, David and Inna joined Emmaus Messianic Congregation (now Beit Tikvah) after seeking a body of Jewish believers. In that same year, they launched the Russian Fellowship, which continues to meet and worship together online. Their tender hearts toward the broken and passion for congregational prayer have led them to minister in various ways, including several years at an Israeli Christian rehabilitation center, as well as spearheading the current congregational prayer initiative at Beit Tikvah.

David and Inna have one son and two grandsons who live in Texas. Apart from work and ministry, David enjoys photography, and Inna is a gifted cellist and vocalist.

Hylan & Rita Slobodkin

Rabbi Emeritus

Hylan and Rita first came to Beit Tikvah (then Emmaus) in 1996 to shepherd the congregation; Hylan was the senior Rabbi, and Rita headed up the children's and women's ministries. In 2023, after 27 faithful years of service, they have passed the torch to Joey and Beth Suyat, and are excited for the next ministry God is equipping them for, as Hylan continues to serve as Beit Tikvah's Rabbi Emeritus.

Hylan and Rita have three married children and eight wonderful grandchildren. They love leading tours to Israel.

Daniel & Katherine Hwang

Music | Media | Tech

Daniel and Katherine have been serving the BT family since 2019. After God led them to spend a brief stint in Montana, they returned to direct the musical portion of worship on Boker Shabbats, as well as design visual content for use in services and social media.

Daniel and Katherine met and fell in love at Princeton University, where they studied music, after which they continued to seek out joint ministry opportunities in the many places God has led them (including Princeton, where they stayed after graduating to disciple undergrads, and Valencia, Spain, where Daniel studied film scoring). They love spending time with their three children, and especially enjoy anything to do with nature, used book stores, and local food.

Jennifer Benvenutti

Office Administrator

If you don't see Jennifer at the office, you will probably find her worshiping with the Dance Ministry during our morning Shabbat services (which she has been attending since 1994). For Jennifer, Beit Tikvah has been more than a "House of Hope"; it has also been her house of healing while grieving the death of a loved one.

A mother of two and grandmother of three, Jennifer enjoys tending her yard, studying and discussing the Bible, and of course, dancing and teaching dance.

Megan  Sellers

Bookkeeping Assistant

Megan came to Beit Tikvah looking for a Messianic congregation with a strong children's program that could teach her how to observe Shabbat and Feast Days. Megan has been volunteering in Beit Tikvah's children's ministry since 2014, and has been serving on staff since 2021 as our bookkeeping assistant.

Outside of work, Megan enjoys taking nature walks, listening to audiobooks, and spending quality time with her son.
